R. cephalanthum ssp. platyphyllum (Pogonanthum ) vokser på Cangshan ved 4000m ved Dali i Kina.
Den har større blade end stamformen. Bladene mellem 2.5 til 4.7 cm lange. Kronrøret over 13 mm. (ssp. cephalanthum er bladene 12-26 mm lange).
Sjælden i kultur. I Flora of China er den nu opgraderet til artstatus: R. platyphyllum.
Fejl JN 305/96 er en R. cephalanthum ssp. cephalanthum.
