R. faucium (Thomsonia). Store stedsegrønne buske eller små træer med mat, glat og skinnende farvet lilla-rød bark med et sølvskinnende skær. De omvendtægformede blade er glatte og 7-12 cm lange, på undersiden ofte med små totter af hår, men ikke så udpræget som ved R. hookeri. Nyskud glatte. Blomstrer i begyndelsen til midten af foråret og de er rosa-violet, lyserøde til hvidlige (sjældent svovl-gul). De har normalt nogle lilla pletter og ligner blomsterne fra R. thomsonii. Ovariet med langstilkede kirtelhår, glatte støvdragere. Vildtvoksende kun i SØ-Tibet 2600 - 3350 m. i skove og på åbne klippesider. En flot art med speciel barkfarve og med attraktive tidlige blomster. Tæt beslægtet med R. hylaeum, som har glat ovarie, større calyx (5-8mm) og længere blomsterstilk (1.5-3mm), og bredere blade. R. hookeri har mange dusk-hår under bladet. R. subanseriense har ikke kirtlet ovarie, men filtet. AC3270 er hårdfør. Frø købt som ægte R. forestii kan indeholde denne art, samt hybrider heraf.
