R. vanhoeffeni is refound in Greenland. Notes on history, distribution, ecology, morphology, and fertility are given. Its hybrid origin is established and consequently a new combination, x Ledodendron vanhoeffen / R. subarticum (Ledum palustre ssp. decumbens) x R. lapponicum), is made.
