Beskrivelse

R. invictum (Heliolepia). 1-2 m høj busk, stedsegrøn. Blade 4-5 cm lange x 2-2,5 cm brede elliptiske, spidse. Bladstilk 8-10 mm. Undersiden dækket af gyldne skæl med afstanden ca. 1,5 gange deres egen diameter fra hinanden. Klasen 2-mangeblomstret. Kronen som er tragtformet (lilla med udvendige skæl) er længere end blomsterstilken (6-8 mm). Calyx 1 mm. Støvdragernes længde ca. som kronen. Frugtlegemet og kapslen skællet. Griffel håret ved basis ellers glat og længere end kronen. Krat på høje bjerge; 2400-2800 m. S Gansu.

Found in Gansu: Wen Xian. Motianling Shan, Baishui Jiang Nature Reserve, W of the city of Wenxian, Qiujiaba, ravine along NW branch of Baima He. Mixed deciduous forest of Acer, Corylus thibetica, Prunus, Betula, Tilia, Tetracentron, Picea, Rhododendron (tree), Aria, occasional Picea and Pterocarya; with dense herbaceous groundcover 32°55’21″N, 104°19’18″E; 2320-2725 m. Stony-rocky soil in open on outcrop above river. Shrub ca. 2 m tall; at peak of flowering; corolla light purple with dark purple and/or yellow spots on upper lobe and adjacent parts of lateral lobes. D. E. Boufford, with Y. Shrubs, evergreen, 1.2–2.2 m tall; young shoots scaly, sparsely pubescent. Petiole 8–10 mm, scaly, sparsely pubescent; leaf blade elliptic or oblong-elliptic, 4–5 × 2–2.5 cm; base cuneate to obtuse; apex obtuse or acute; abaxial surface scales ca. 1.5 × their own diameter apart, dimorphic, golden yellow; adaxial surface deep green, without scales, pubescent along midrib. Inflorescence terminal, umbellate, 2- to many-flowered; rachis 1–2 mm. Pedicel shorter than corolla, 0.6–0.8 cm, scaly, glabrous; calyx 5-lobed; lobes ca. 1 mm, ovate or triangular, scaly abaxially and on margin, pubescent; corolla funnelform-campanulate or campanulate, 5-lobed, purple, 2.2–2.6 × ca. 2.6 cm, outer surface scaly, puberulous along the adaxial suture, otherwise glabrous, inner surface densely pubescent at base; stamens 10, unequal, 1.2–2.5 cm, as long as or slightly longer than corolla; filaments densely villous below; ovary 5-locular, densely scaly, pubescent at apex; style erect, longer than corolla, scales absent, pubescent at base.
